The constant technology improvement of Peerless by Tymphany in the field of loudspeakers has led to the brand's contemporary success. They are the world’s manufacturer of the well-known Peerless woofers and have always delivered high-quality sound for every application. They ensure constant quality for all their products. At SoundImports, you will find a wide range of Peerless by Tymphany woofers and tweeters.
Peerless was founded in Denmark in 1926. In 2000, Vifa, which was also founded in Denmark, merged with Peerless to form Danish Sound Technology (DST). In 2005, Tymphany acquired Danish Sound Technology (DST) and the original Peerless, Vifa, and Scan-Speak brands, engineering, products, and technologies. Since 2005, Peerless transducer technology has been a constant that has led to their rich audio heritage and success today. Peerless audio products have been delivering premium sound for any application.
Peerless offers nine series of tweeters to match your speaker’s design and sound quality. Each one of them uses a different combination of silk or fabric for the dome and ferrite or neodymium for the magnet motor. Most tweeter families utilize two Tymphany technologies to deliver exceptional sound quality: the ring radiator patent and the central waveguide patent. They all are designed to fit snugly into small applications while providing excellent dynamic sound quality. Following, we’d like to present a few of the most popular series. Their offer comprehends dome tweeters and horn/waveguide tweeters.
The tweeters in this family feature finite element analysis designed Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnet (NdFeB) motors, with copper caps for extended frequency response and reduced distortion. Peerless by Tymphany’s NE65W-04 is a 2 inches 4 Ohms member of the NE family that, together with the NE19VTS-04, offers a leading-edge transducer technology packaged in a cutting edge stylistic design. Tymphany's NE Series comprises full-range drivers featuring an innovative sculpted, open cast aluminium basket design that minimizes internal acoustic reflections and acts as the neodymium motor's heatsink. The full-range drivers in this family feature an innovative cast aluminium basket design that minimizes acoustic reflections inside the driver through large basket windows and sculpted basket spokes.
The D family tweeter series features a treated silk dome, a large rear chamber for low resonant frequency, and a ferrofluid-cooled ferrite magnet motor. They achieve a shallow resonant frequency for their size using a wide surround and large resonant chamber. With smooth response and low distortion, they are an excellent choice for smaller 2-way designs and car audio systems. The popular D27TG35-06 and DA25BG08-06 are great examples of this series’ extremely smooth and accurate sound with an extraordinary transient response.
In 1999, Vifa launched its first star-product, the Ring Radiator of the XT series. Many manufacturers adopted this 25 mm coil tweeter. The XT series features a patented dual concentric diaphragm and a unique waveguide centre plug that provide an excellent on- and off-axis response. The XT19TD00-04 model, for example, features a 4 Ohms, 19 mm voice coil mounted in a ferrite magnet motor. The tweeter also features a rear chamber to create an extended low-frequency response.
Peerless also offers nine series of sub-, bass-mid-, and full-range-woofers as well as passive radiators. The use of leading-edge technologies like a polymer chassis, NRSC (Tymphany patent) paper cone, and a copper pole piece cap have made these drivers appear on many industry insider lists as the best sounding solution in this market.
The Peerless High Definition Sound (HDS) Series offers high-quality solutions for multi-way speaker systems employing vented box alignments. Peerless by Tymphany HDS-P830883 is a 6.5 inches, 8 Ohms driver with a powerful ferrite magnet system, coupled with a finite element analysis designed suspension system, containing both a linear spider design and a rubber surround. The motor contains an aluminium shorting ring, which reduces coil inductance, thus providing extended frequency response performance and reduced distortion.
A useful alternative to overlong ports, passive radiators offer designers a well-proven method of extending and enhancing bass response. The Peerless SLS Series combines high-quality performance with an affordable design. The SLS-P830668 (10 inches, 8 Ohms) is a member of the SLS family, featuring a rigid steel basket, a coated paper cone, and a ferrite magnet motor with an aluminium shorting ring for improved distortion performance. Peerless by Tymphany SDS-P830878 is 4 inches member of the SDS family; another passive radiator, designed to match up with SDS subwoofers, features a coated paper cone, a rubber surround and a narrow-profile steel basket shaped to fit into narrow cabinets. The Peerless SDF series is a line of high-performance woofers and subwoofers built for more bass in smaller-than-traditional enclosures. To be used in compact high output and low distortion subwoofer designs, the Peerless SDF-250F75PR01-06 subwoofer will deliver outstanding performance. Designed to handle power with its 3 inches voice coil and extensive venting, this driver also includes an advanced motor design to keep distortion at a minimum.
The STW line of subwoofers from Peerless was designed with performance and space in mind. These drivers offer deep and clean low-frequency reproduction with minimal distortion at high sound pressure levels. Unlike most subwoofers, the STW family of drivers can be mounted in a much smaller box than traditional subwoofers, which is enabled by the high moving mass and 8 inches voice coil. The drivers are built for high-quality performance and reliability. A great example of this is the STW-350F-188PR01-04.
