Dayton Audio AXIS-8 Digital Signal Processor with Sub Effects
The Dayton Audio AXIS-8 gives you precise digital control over complex audio systems in a compact processor measuring 200 x 114 x 50 mm. It is designed for tuning DSP modules in home, mobile, and custom installations, with a 5 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response, 103 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 0.008% THD+N, 48 kHz sampling rate, and 24-bit DSP processing.
Input flexibility is one of the AXIS-8’s key strengths. It supports up to four RCA line-level inputs, up to four speaker-level inputs via the included wiring harness, 2-channel PCM optical TOSLINK, USB-C digital audio, and Bluetooth 5.0 streaming. Selectable input attenuation modes of 2.1 V, 3.8 V, and 5 V help match both home audio and car audio source equipment.
Eight RCA line outputs make the AXIS-8 suitable for active systems and multi-amplifier setups. The output mode switch lets you choose a 2 V home setting or a 5 V car setting for compatibility with different amplifiers. Processing features include routing, parametric EQ, crossovers, up to 10 ms delay per channel, Superbass, and Dynamic Bass for controlled low-frequency enhancement.
Configuration is handled through AXIS Control software. Windows users connect directly via USB, while iOS and Android users can control the unit wirelessly through Bluetooth Low Energy. The setup wizard automatically creates a working configuration by routing inputs, setting groups, calculating crossovers, and naming channels. Up to 6 presets can be stored in the AXIS-8 and recalled using the software, mobile app, or optional AXIS-R wired remote.
