Product description Markaudio Alpair-11MS Gold Full-range Woofer

The advanced design Alpair 11MS (mono suspension) is a radical departure from previous models. The 11MS is completely new, utilising many new design components and manufacturing processes. The two main features are the patent-pending Negative Camber Cone and Mono suspension system. Other key features include a custom designed, gas-flowed glass-fibre chassis and dedicated ultra light voice coil.

Highlights

Latest model
The run-in time for the 11MS is significantly reduced compared to previous models. Ten hours of light music at moderate volumes is sufficient for the suspension to reach its optimal operating pattern.
An Arrestor (as deployed in previous Alpair models) provides an audible warning of accidental excess excursion.
The low-mass coil has a vented former and the motor employs custom made copper plating to reduce distortion.
The MS11 is a bass capable audio driver with comparable performance to light-medium load traditional mid-bass units.

Markaudio Alpair-11MS Gold 6,5" Full Range Woofer

After releasing the Pluvia range of drivers, which have been well received, Mark set about the next design evolution. As some of you will know Mark’s design ethos is mechanical efficiency, adding lightness and simplifying where possible. In these new drivers Mark has managed to achieve much more with much less.

The 11MS cone is an ultra shallow design affording a wide dispersion pattern. The outer section of the cone profile is angled backwards creating a +180 degrees emittance pattern to help optimise stereo imaging. Vocals from quality sources sound more natural and detailed as the central cap and cone profile are geometrically close-aligned.

Much technical research has been done to balance the driver’s powertrain (cone, cap, coil and suspension) between its axis of travel and the corresponding centre of gravity. The new negative-camber cone facilitates the repositioning of the coil to avoid the need for a traditional rear suspension (spider). This new mono suspension design frees the coil from having a restrictive spider bonded to it, improving the transfer of energy from the driver’s motor to its cone. The new suspension employs an all new custom mix of four synthetic materials, resulting in improved linearity under low frequency loads.

The 11MS all new chassis is optimised to enhance airflow. The various slopes and rounded angles help improve sound wave emittance. Custom extended terminals are provided for push-on connectors or light-soldering for cables up to 1.5mm diameter.

The 11MS is an audio driver designed for the dedicated music lover and High-Fidelity enthusiast. Attention to design detail along with an close tolerance manufacturing standard to +/- 0.05mm on most component alignments make this new generation of Markaudio transducers stand out from the crowd.

Has a 58 liter bass reflex box and the driver digs deep into the bass. Perhaps the deepest of all Mark Audio drivers. I really like the sound they can make. From the bottom to the top. Sees a lot of people like it too so I'm not alone. The price is cheap compared to several similar full register drivers. Highly recommend them!!

Top ! Gebruik hem als middentoner in een 3 weg systeem. En dat doet hij uitstekend, veel detail en zonder enige vervorming.

I am using Stero pair Alpair 11ms in an DIY Ikea bowl/Sphere (closed) speaker for a year now, on my SMSL A300 via SMSL M500MKII Sound Source PC S/PDIF. They Sound awsome. In Comparison my RP-600M II Sound muddy and have no presence, even the KEF R3 Meta sound feel way overpriced... in my ears about the same as the Klipsch but clearer. 230€ in materiel play better than 2000+ € speaker. They sound clear and image near perfect. Now in the Progre...

I have changed the amplifier. Took a chance and bought an SMSL A300 (€199), after listening for 30 hours it was almost perfect sound. You can adjust the bass and treble +-9 without deterioration of the sound, so it's just a matter of setting what suits you best. Star clear sound, low distortion almost non-existent. Combination A300 and Alpair 11MS is very good. Good luck.

Excellent driver transparent and musical with innovation in mind

My drivers are starting to be recorded now. Are overwhelmed by what they can accomplish. I can associate that they sound a bit like mine hornspeakers in the 80's (3-way). So detailed and seductive without sounding hard in any way. I am very happy with these drivers. I really recommend these. Mark you are the KING I have found home ... Thanks.

I used a pair of these to build a pair of Pensil 11 full range floor-standers. They came promptly and very well packaged. After fitting and a few hours of running in I have to say I'm very impressed indeed. They are the first full range speakers I've owned so have little to compare them to but the sound is coherent, better extended in the bass than I anticipated and easy to listen to for extended periods without fatigue whilst being more detailed...

These are great speaker units but do your research as the type of enclosure/cabinet, and the output impedance of your amplifier, will have an impact on the overall sound.

One out of two drivers had to be replaced under warranty, as the claimed production tolerance was clearly not met by far, resulting in scratching noises. The breaking in phase really seems to be as short as claimed, they open up very fast. MIdrange is detailed and well positioned. Definitely not missing a tweeter with this. No harschness coming from the metal dome, and glady it does not not sound too mellow as well. Works nicely balanced witho...
