Peerless DA32TX00-08 1-1/4" Corondum Dome Tweeter Matched Pair

Peerless designed the DA32TX00-08 1-1/4" corundum dome tweeters for both hi-fi and professional applications. With their unique material and design enhancements, these tweeters are built for industry-leading performance and reliability. Corundum, one of natured hardest substances (9 out of 10 on the MOHS hardness scale), is extremely rigid with excellent damping which pushes any dome resonance well outside of the audible range keeping frequency response flat to 22,000 Hz and beyond. The DA32TX00-08 incorporates a unique rear chamber that lowers the resonant frequency and serves as a heatsink for improved power handling and negligible power compression. The massive FEA optimized underhung motor assembly provides incredible control for impressive dynamics, and includes a thick copper cap on the pole piece for lower inductance with minimal distortion. In addition, the optional metal grill (held in place magnetically) protects the fragile dome from foreign objects and curious fingers. Capable of handling crossover frequencies as low as 1,200 Hz, the DA32TX00-08 will present outstanding performance in almost any 2 or 3-way speaker designs.

While technically possible, it is not optimized for small car enclosures due to its larger size and open-back rear chamber design. Proper integration would require a well-designed enclosure to control resonance and reflections

Peerless DA32TX00-08 – ein Hochtöner mit außergewöhnlich sauberem Verhalten Nach meinen Messungen liegt der DA32TX00-08 bei etwa 90 dB Wirkungsgrad und damit rund 2 dB über der angegebenen Empfindlichkeit von 88 dB. Noch interessanter als dieser Wert ist für mich allerdings sein Verhalten unter realen Einsatzbedingungen. Besonders positiv fallen die Winkelmessungen auf. Der Hochtöner zeigt ein sehr gleichmäßiges Abstrahlverhalten und erinnert dabei erstaunlich stark an eine gute 19-mm-Kalotte. Auch außerhalb der Achse bleibt der Frequenzgang kontrolliert und sauber, was für die Integration in ein Lautsprechersystem ein großer Vorteil ist. Im fertigen Lautsprechersystem verhält sich der DA32TX00-08 ausgesprochen unauffällig – und genau das ist für mich ein Kompliment. Er drängt sich klanglich nicht in den Vordergrund und erzeugt nicht den Eindruck einer eigenen klanglichen Signatur. Er macht einfach seine Arbeit und wirkt akustisch beinahe transparent. Auch die Klirrmessungen sind sehr überzeugend. Die Verzerrungswerte liegen auf einem sehr guten Niveau und sind in meinem Aufbau durchaus mit dem Scan-Speak 18M/4 Ohm vergleichbar. Beide Chassis spielen in meinem Lautsprecher zusammen, und gerade deshalb ist mir die geringe Verzerrung des Hochtöners besonders wichtig. Interessant ist außerdem die Konstruktion des DA32TX00-08. Der auffällig große rückwärtige Kühlkörper ist nicht nur eine thermische Maßnahme. Er bildet gleichzeitig einen wesentlichen Teil der rückwärtigen Konstruktion des Treibers und sorgt für eine sehr gute Wärmeabfuhr aus dem Bereich des Luftspalts. Das ist besonders relevant, wenn man bedenkt, wie tief man diesen Hochtöner einsetzen kann. Mit einer elektrischen Trennung über einen 10-µF-Kondensator lässt sich bei geeigneter Impedanz und Systemauslegung eine sehr tiefe akustische Trennung realisieren. Eine solche Belastung verlangt nach einer entsprechend guten thermischen Auslegung – und genau hier zeigt sich der Sinn des großen Kühlkörpers. Für mich ist der DA32TX00-08 deshalb ein ausgesprochen gelungenes Stück Ingenieursarbeit von Peerless. Gerade bei Hartmembran-Hochtönern gibt es nur wenige Modelle, die sowohl bei den Messwerten als auch beim Abstrahlverhalten und in der praktischen Integration so überzeugend sind. Natürlich gibt es mit Beryllium-Hochtönern noch exklusivere Lösungen. Allerdings liegen diese preislich teilweise beim Fünffachen oder darüber. Für mich stellt sich daher die Frage, ob dieser Mehrpreis im praktischen Lautsprecherbau tatsächlich gerechtfertigt ist. Nach meinen Messungen und Erfahrungen mit dem DA32TX00-08 lautet meine Antwort derzeit klar: Nein. Ich werde deshalb noch einige weitere Exemplare kaufen. Für mich gehört dieser Hochtöner zu den sehr wenigen Hartmembran-Modellen, die ich ohne Bedenken auch in anspruchsvollen Eigenentwicklungen einsetzen würde. Von mir: 5 von 5 Sternen.

My existing Visaton MHT 12 tweeters were sounding harsh in my diy speakers (I suspect they were struggling with being crossed over at 3500hz + had higher sensitivity than the rest of the drivers). DA32TX00 made an instant improvement to the sound - the overall presentation is more natural and (unexpectedly) the bass is now more extended and the sound fuller (I suspect that these are a better match for my off the shelf crossover and Satori drivers...
