Product details miniDSP Tide16
miniDSP Tide16 Immersive AV-DSP Processor with Quad Core ARM processor
The miniDSP Tide16 is built for demanding immersive playback systems where flexible processing and high channel count are essential. It can decode up to 16 channels from HDMI depending on the speaker layout and Dolby Atmos or DTS:X content, making it a strong foundation for serious home audio, home theater and immersive audio rooms. A 3 x 1 HDMI switch with eARC/ARC support lets you connect multiple HDMI sources or route audio from an eARC-capable TV, while 4K60 UHD, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Vision compatibility and VRR support keep it suitable for modern AV setups.
At the core of the Tide16 is a Quad Core A53 ARM processor operating at 1.8 GHz, with 32-bit floating point processing at 48 kHz. The processor runs miniDSP’s flexible DSP toolbox across all sixteen outputs, including matrix mixing, crossovers, EQ, delay and advanced bass management. This makes the Tide16 equally useful for multi-subwoofer installations, active speakers, multi-way speaker processing and studio or mastering configurations.
Room correction is a major strength of the Tide16. Dirac Live Full Range correction from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, Dirac Live Bass Control and Dirac Active Room Treatment are included, with no extra licensing cost required. For accurate setup, the system can be paired with a UMIK-1 or UMIK-2 measurement microphone, making it suitable for precise acoustic measurements and room tuning.
The Tide16 also offers extensive stereo and digital connectivity. Inputs include USB audio for 2-channel PCM, Bluetooth with LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC support, two coaxial S/PDIF inputs, two optical inputs, stereo RCA and balanced stereo XLR. The 16 fully differential balanced XLR outputs use ESS ES9017 conversion with output relays, delivering 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response within ±0.05 dB, 125 dB SNR and -118 dB THD+N. Control is handled through the web user interface, miniDSP Device Console for Mac and Windows, IR remote control, network connectivity via Wi-Fi or Gigabit Ethernet and support for third-party control via API.
