The SMSL PA400 is a high-performance GaN power amplifier designed for audiophiles and high-end stereo systems. It leverages cutting-edge Gallium Nitride transistors and advanced circuitry to deliver powerful, clean sound with very low distortion across the full audio band.
PA400 GaN Power Amplifier
The SMSL PA400 is a dedicated GaN power amplifier built around Infineon Gallium Nitride FETs, which operate at an ultra-high switching frequency of up to 1 MHz to deliver refined, detailed sound reproduction with excellent transient response. This amplifier supports both balanced XLR and RCA line inputs for flexible system integration.
In stereo mode the PA400 produces solid power per channel, while in mono block mode two units paired together can produce up to 500 W into an 8 Ω load, making it capable of driving demanding passive speakers with ease. The use of TI’s PGA2311 volume control chip ensures ultra-low distortion and precise volume steps.
The build quality is refined with aerospace-grade aluminum chassis and gold-plated connectors that improve signal integrity. Onboard protection circuits guard against overheating and overcurrent conditions for long-term reliability. Whether paired with a high-resolution DAC or integrated into a larger hi-fi system, the PA400 provides clean, powerful amplification with exceptional clarity and control.
