        The SMSL D400 MK2 is built for demanding home audio systems where high-resolution digital playback and accurate conversion are essential. As one of SMSL’s advanced DAC converters, it supports MQA decoding, MQA-CD, PCM playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD support up to DSD512.

         

        At the heart of the D400 MK2 is a flagship AKM conversion platform using AK4191 and AK4499EX DAC technology. Its dual mono architecture is designed for exceptionally low distortion, reaching as low as 0.00006% or -124 dB, while five high-end dual op amps and a selection of audiophile components support clean, detailed analogue output performance.

         

        Clocking and power supply design receive particular attention in the D400 MK2. SMSL’s self-developed CK-04 clock processing circuit greatly reduces jitter, supported by a built-in ±5 ppb, 10 MHz OCXO crystal oscillator. Multiple low-noise regulated power supplies and low-noise power processing provide a stable, efficient and quiet operating foundation.

         

        Connectivity is extensive, with USB, optical, coaxial, AES and I2S inputs supporting DSD transmission, while coaxial and optical also support DoP64. Bluetooth playback is handled by a high-end Qualcomm chip with LDAC 24-bit/96 kHz, aptX HD, SBC and AAC support. The D400 MK2 is finished with an all-aluminium alloy chassis, gold-plated input and output terminals, a tempered glass colour IPS display, Hi-Res certification from the Japan Audio Association and a full-featured remote control.
