Scan-Speak D2906/972000 1 1/8" Dome Tweeter 6 Ohm
The Scan-Speak D2906/972000 introduces the new Heritage series as its first tweeter model, marking the start of a new generation within Scan-Speak’s high-frequency driver lineup. As a Heritage series dome tweeter, it combines a controlled directivity waveguide with a low-distortion motor system, making it a strong choice for refined DIY and replacement projects.
Its patented Symmetrical Drive SD-2 motor is engineered to support clean output, while the low-resonance rear chamber helps manage the tweeter’s resonance behavior. The unit has a resonance frequency of 530 Hz, a total Q factor of 0.71, a force factor of 3.1 Tm, and a sensitivity of 90 dB at 2.83 V/1 m.
With a nominal impedance of 6 ohm, 4.8 ohm DC resistance, and very low 0.02 mH voice coil inductance, the D2906/972000 integrates well into carefully designed passive crossover networks. Scan-Speak recommends a second-order high-pass Butterworth crossover at 2.8 kHz.
The recommended operating frequency range is 1800 Hz to 20000 Hz, giving speaker designers clear guidance for using this model among premium tweeters and other audio components. The unit weighs 0.7 kg and has a cabinet displacement volume of 0.15 liters.
