        NERO-18OBN500D Open Baffle Subwoofer

         

        The NERO-18OBN500D is purpose-built for open baffle subwoofer systems, combining a long-stroke design with low inductance and high mechanical integrity. At its core is a 4-inch copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) voice coil wound on a fiberglass former and treated with APC coating to reduce thermal and mechanical losses. This motor structure, combined with a demodulated neodymium magnet system and an extended copper sleeve, minimizes intermodulation distortion and ensures ultra-low compression—even under high SPL. With a wide frequency response of 21 Hz to 3.7 kHz and a sensitivity of 92 dB (2.83V/1m), the NERO-18OBN500D offers deep, clean bass with high efficiency. The large 662-liter Vas, 16 mm Xmax, and 50 mm peak excursion capability further enable robust low-end performance in free-air or open baffle configurations.

         

        Constructed with an aluminum die-cast basket and a proprietary doped cone using fiberglass and graphene, the driver ensures mechanical strength and stability. Features like an Open Yoke Vent (OYV) and a flared, vented pole piece reduce compression and noise. This unit also offers weather resistance and a compact mounting profile, making it a reliable choice for high-end indoor or protected outdoor audio setups.
