        SB Acoustics Satori MW16P-12 6.5" Midwoofer

         

        The Satori MW16P-12 by SB Acoustics is part of their flagship line and combines carefully engineered acoustic and mechanical elements to deliver audiophile-grade performance. Featuring a proprietary cone crafted from Egyptian Papyrus™ fibers, the MW16P-12 offers excellent internal damping for a clean and natural midrange. The vented aerodynamic cast aluminum chassis minimizes compression while enhancing structural strength. The powerful low-distortion neodymium motor is optimized with an extended copper sleeve on the pole piece, reducing inductance and minimizing distortion. The non-conductive fiberglass voice coil former, combined with a CCAW (copper-clad aluminum wire) voice coil, results in reduced moving mass and superior transient response. The soft, low-damping rubber surround and advanced Bimax spider further improve linearity and control over cone movement.

         

        With a free-air resonance (Fs) of 30.6 Hz, sensitivity of 85 dB, and a linear excursion of 12.4 mm (p-p), the MW16P-12 is engineered for accurate low-frequency response and dynamic range. It is ideally suited for high-end 2-way and 3-way designs, particularly in applications that require precise detail and low coloration across the midrange spectrum.
