REDCATT CX12F140F 12" Coaxial Woofer 8 Ohm
The REDCATT CX12F140F is a professional 12" coaxial woofer designed for high-efficiency sound reinforcement. Its low-frequency section uses a REDCATT-developed paper pulp cone, while the high-frequency section is built around a proven dome assembly and an integrated symmetrical aluminum horn. This compact coaxial layout helps create a practical full-range point-source solution for PA and installation designs.
With 96.83 dB sensitivity and substantial power handling, the CX12F140F is built for demanding speaker systems. The LF section handles 200 W AES, 400 W continuous and 800 W peak, while the HF section handles 30 W AES, 60 W continuous and 120 W peak. The 8 Ohm impedance makes it straightforward to integrate into many professional loudspeaker designs.
The hybrid ferrite-neodymium magnetic circuit is engineered for strong magnetic performance in a compact form factor. REDCATT optimizes the motor design to minimize flux modulation and improve stability, while an aluminum demodulation ring in the HF section supports clean high-frequency performance. The steel basket, fabric/PEN surround, Nomex spider and glass fiber/Kapton former contribute to robust construction.
The CX12F140F offers flexible enclosure options. In sealed cabinets, a 63.9-liter Butterworth alignment provides an approximate f-3 dB of 79 Hz, while 21.3-liter and 13.4-liter sealed alignments suit more compact column or surface-mount designs. Vented enclosures from 30 to 80 liters, tuned between 28 and 45 Hz with a 100 mm port, extend bass response and keep port velocity within PA-oriented limits.
