        The REDCATT 8FR is a 8.0" 4 ohm full-range woofer for efficient single-point loudspeaker designs, combining a bamboo-fiber reinforced paper cone, ferrite motor, and response extension up to 15 kHz.

        The REDCATT 8FR is designed for Hi-Fi applications where a single-point audio source is desired. As a full-range woofer, it uses a lightweight yet strong paper pulp cone reinforced with bamboo fibers, helping it cover a wide operating range while maintaining a clean, modern appearance for exposed-driver loudspeaker builds.

         

        Its whizzer-style cone and bullet-style phase plug help extend the working range up to 15 kHz and support smooth sound reproduction both on and off axis. This makes the 8FR a strong choice for builders looking for efficient woofers that can deliver wideband performance without a conventional multi-way layout.

         

        The ferrite magnetic circuit is engineered to provide a robust B-field across the driver’s working range, while the copper shorting cup improves behavior in the mid-high region. Key specifications include 4 ohm rated impedance, 93 dB sensitivity, 30 W AES power, 60 W continuous power, and 120 W peak power handling.

         

        For enclosure design, the 8FR is suited to vented speaker systems. Recommended bass reflex alignments include 20 liters tuned to 61 Hz for strong mid-bass output, 24 liters tuned to 56 Hz for a balanced general-purpose response, or 24 liters tuned to 50 Hz for deeper low-frequency extension with high-pass filter protection.
