        The REDCATT 8FHW is an 8.0" 4 Ohm bass-mid woofer for compact 2-way PA and hi-fi designs, combining outdoor-ready construction with useful low-frequency extension and clean midrange behaviour.

        REDCATT 8FHW 8.0" Bass-Mid Woofer 4 Ohm

         

        The REDCATT 8FHW is a versatile bass-mid woofer designed for compact 2-way PA or hi-fi loudspeaker projects. Its extended frequency response reaches into the low frequencies while maintaining good behaviour through the higher midrange, making it suitable for designs where one driver must cover both punch and vocal-range detail.

         

        Built for indoor and outdoor use, this woofer uses a UV-stabilized polypropylene cone and NBR rubber surround. The treated components and waterproof adhesive system help the driver withstand harsh outdoor environments, while the steel basket and ferrite motor provide a robust foundation for reliable operation.

         

        Performance specifications include a 4 Ohm rated impedance, 89.12 dB sensitivity, 36 Hz Fs and a 30.5 mm copper voice coil on an aluminium former. Power handling is 100 W AES, 200 W continuous and 400 W peak, giving the 8FHW useful headroom for compact speakers and custom audio projects.

         

        For bass reflex enclosures, REDCATT recommends several alignments: 20 liters tuned to 41 Hz for high output and strong mid-bass, 24 liters tuned to 38 Hz for a balanced general-purpose response, or 24 liters tuned to 34 Hz for extended low-frequency output with high-pass filter protection. Key mounting dimensions include a 209.50 mm overall diameter, 184.50 mm baffle cutout, 86.50 mm mounting depth and 1.50 kg net weight.
