REDCATT 82FHW 8.0" Aluminum Cone Bass-Mid Woofer 8 Ohm
The REDCATT 82FHW is built as a versatile bass-mid woofer for compact loudspeaker projects where low-frequency output and midrange extension both matter. Its hard-anodized aluminium cone and matching dust cap help extend the driver’s usable range, making it suitable for 2-way compact top designs, hi-fi systems and studio monitor applications.
With an 8 Ohm rated impedance, 88.31 dB sensitivity and a 42 Hz resonant frequency, the 82FHW offers a practical balance of output, bandwidth and enclosure flexibility. Power handling is rated at 60 W AES, 120 W continuous and 240 W peak, supported by a 38 mm copper voice coil on an aluminium former.
The mechanical design is focused on durability. An aluminium basket improves rigidity and fatigue resistance, while coated metal parts and a UV-stabilized NBR surround increase protection for demanding portable and outdoor speaker use. The ferrite motor system includes FEM-optimized air venting to reduce air noise and improve voice coil cooling.
For enclosure design, REDCATT recommends bass reflex alignments of 14 liters tuned to 48 Hz for strong mid-bass output, 16 liters tuned to 44 Hz for a balanced general-purpose response, or 18 liters tuned to 40 Hz for extended low-frequency reach. With a 189 mm baffle cutout, 87.50 mm mounting depth and six mounting holes, it integrates cleanly into custom woofers and compact loudspeaker builds.
