REDCATT 61XR 6.0" Bass-Mid Woofer 4 Ohm
The REDCATT 61XR is built as a high-performance bass-mid woofer for demanding 2-way and multi-way loudspeaker systems. Its XR technology, paper cone and carefully developed foam surround support clear mid-frequency reproduction while maintaining controlled, undistorted bass performance.
The motor design uses neodymium magnets positioned along the voice coil winding, combined with a secondary and static shorting coil on the pole piece. This construction helps reduce inductance across the main coil excursion, while the 44.5 mm copper voice coil, glass fiber former and 10.3 mm winding height contribute to reliable power handling.
With 100 W AES power handling, 200 W continuous power and 400 W peak power capability, the 61XR is suitable for compact 2-way speakers, hi-fi systems and studio monitors where precise sound reproduction is required. It is also a strong choice for bookshelf speakers when a clean midrange and a punchy sealed-box bass character are desired.
For enclosure design, REDCATT recommends sealed speaker cabinets of 8 liters, 12 liters or 20 liters depending on the target alignment. The 12-liter option is a recommended starting point for 2-way home audio, while the larger 20-liter sealed alignment gives a smoother, more natural roll-off. Vented enclosures are not recommended due to the high Qts of 0.72.
