REDCATT 61FHMX8 6.5" Aluminum Cone Bass-Mid Woofer 8 Ohm
The REDCATT 61FHMX8 is built as a compact, durable bass-mid woofer for systems that need controlled low-frequency output and clean midrange behavior from one driver. Its hard-anodized aluminum cone improves mid-frequency response and helps reduce harmonic distortion artifacts, while the aluminum basket provides a rigid mounting structure.
With a resonant frequency of 37 Hz, 87.77 dB sensitivity and a 38 mm CCAW voice coil on a glass fiber former, this driver is well suited for compact 2-way designs. The ferrite-based magnetic circuit includes good air ventilation, supporting stable long-term performance in demanding woofers and mid-woofer applications.
The 61FHMX8 was developed with outdoor use in mind, while also fitting comfortably into hi-fi home and studio projects. The cone and surround use UV stabilizers, and REDCATT’s adhesive and dispensing techniques create waterproof seals in weather-exposed glue joints. This makes it a strong option for compact speakers where durability and sound quality both matter.
For system design, REDCATT recommends sealed enclosures for best performance. Bass reflex alignments are also supported, including 8 liters tuned to 43 Hz for strong mid-bass, 10 liters tuned to 39 Hz for balanced general-purpose use, or 10 liters tuned to 35 Hz for extended low-frequency performance with high-pass filter protection.
