REDCATT 61FHMX4 6.5" Aluminum Cone Bass-Mid Woofer 4 Ohm
The REDCATT 61FHMX4 is a robust bass-mid woofer developed for extended frequency response and dependable performance. Its hard-anodized aluminum cone helps improve mid-frequency output while reducing harmonic distortion artifacts, making it a strong choice for compact two-way systems and other high-quality speaker builds.
Built around a ferrite motor and aluminum basket, this driver combines mechanical stability with practical thermal and airflow considerations. The 38 mm CCAW voice coil uses a glass fiber former, while the optimized magnetic circuit includes air-venting features for long-lasting performance in demanding audio components applications.
The 61FHMX4 is especially suitable for hi-fi, studio and outdoor speakers. The aluminum cone and NBR surround are produced with UV stabilizers, and REDCATT’s adhesive and dispensing methods provide waterproof seals in weather-exposed glue joints. This makes the driver well suited to projects where durability is just as important as sound quality.
For system design, the driver offers an Fs of 35 Hz, 86.01 dB sensitivity and a Qts of 0.53. REDCATT recommends sealed enclosures for best overall performance, while compact bass-reflex alignments are also supported, including 8 liters tuned to 40 Hz for strong mid-bass output and 10 liters tuned to 37 Hz as a balanced general-purpose option.
