REDCATT 121XR 12" Bass-Mid Woofer 8 Ohm
The REDCATT 121XR is engineered for demanding professional woofers applications where strong bass output and clear mid-frequency reproduction are both required. Its XR technology and static shorting coil help keep distortion exceptionally low, with THD below 0.5% from 20 Hz up to 2.5 kHz.
A neodymium motor structure, large magnets positioned along the voice coil winding and a shorting coil over the full main coil excursion contribute to high excursion and controlled behaviour. The 63.5 mm copper voice coil on a glass-fiber former, combined with unique gap venting, supports reliable operation under high output conditions.
The carbon-fiber-loaded paper cone, fabric surround and large Nomex spider with stitched tinsel wires make the 121XR suitable as a high-performance bass-mid woofer in 2-way and multi-way speaker systems. With 95.78 dB sensitivity, 16.00 T·m BL and only 0.160 mH inductance, it is built for efficient, clean and dynamic reproduction.
For enclosure design, the 121XR works in bass-reflex alignments such as 55 liters tuned to 51 Hz for strong mid-bass, 65 liters tuned to 45 Hz for balanced general-purpose use, or 80 liters tuned to 39 Hz for extended low-frequency output. It can also be used in subwoofer applications when protected with an appropriate high-pass filter.
