        PRV Audio D4500Ph-Nd Professional Compression Driver

         

        The PRV Audio D4500Ph-Nd is a professional compression driver developed for high-performance loudspeaker designs where efficiency and reliability are critical. It features a 2 inch exit throat and a large 4 inch voice coil wound with CCAW wire on a Kapton former, allowing it to handle high thermal loads while maintaining consistent performance.

         

        The driver is rated at 250 watts nominal power handling, with 500 watts continuous program power and up to 1000 watts peak. Its high sensitivity of 110 dB measured at 2.83 V and 1 meter makes it suitable for applications requiring strong output with minimal amplifier power. A recommended high-pass crossover of 600 Hz with a 12 dB per octave slope ensures full power handling and long-term reliability.

         

        The phenolic diaphragm provides a controlled and natural response across its operating range of 450 Hz to 7,000 Hz at -10 dB, making it well suited for vocal and mid-high frequency reproduction. A neodymium magnet with a flux density of 1.95 T contributes to high efficiency while keeping the overall weight low at approximately 4.35 kg, ideal for portable and fixed professional audio systems.
