        PRV Audio D290Py-S Compression Driver

         

        The PRV Audio D290Py-S is a professional-grade compression driver engineered for high-output sound reinforcement systems. It features a 1.75" voice coil wound with copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) on a lightweight Kapton® former, which offers high thermal resistance and minimal power compression. The 1" exit throat and polyimide diaphragm provide smooth and accurate high-frequency response from 650 Hz to 19,000 Hz, making it ideal for use in two-way and multi-driver horn-loaded speaker systems.

         

        Designed with an 8-ohm nominal impedance, the D290Py-S can handle 90 Watts RMS and up to 180 Watts program power, peaking at 360 Watts. With a sensitivity of 109 dB at 2.83V/1m, it delivers powerful output with reduced amplifier strain. The robust ferrite magnet motor structure ensures consistent performance even under extended use.

         

        Measuring just 120 mm in diameter and 77.7 mm in depth, this driver fits compactly into most horn setups. It features a standard 1-3/8"-18 TPI mounting thread, weighs 2.15 kg, and is recommended to be used with a 12 dB/octave crossover set at 1000 Hz or higher.

         

        To support long-term reliability and easy maintenance, we offer a matching replacement diaphragm. The PRV Audio RPD290Py Replacement Diaphragm allows quick restoration of original performance and extending the service life of the compression driver.
