        PRV Audio D290Py-B Compression Driver

         

        The PRV Audio D290Py-B compression driver is designed for demanding professional audio environments, offering a 1" (25.4 mm) exit throat and a lightweight polyimide diaphragm. Its 1.75" (44.4 mm) copper voice coil is wound on a Kapton® former, delivering reliable performance and excellent heat dissipation during extended use. Operating at 8 ohms, this driver handles 90 Watts of continuous power and 180 Watts program power, with a recommended 1,000 Hz high-pass crossover (12 dB/octave) for full power operation.

         

        It features a high flux density of 1.85 Tesla, supported by a robust ferrite magnet structure. With a wide usable frequency range from 650 Hz to 19 kHz and a high sensitivity rating of 109 dB at 2.83V/1m, the D290Py-B ensures clarity and projection in mid to high-frequency applications. Its compact form factor - with a 120 mm diameter and 61 mm depth - allows flexible integration into tight enclosures or horn-loaded systems. The D290Py-B is perfect for PA system upgrades, DIY speaker builders, and anyone seeking professional-grade audio performance in a compact compression driver.
