        PRV Audio 3MR40-NDY-4 Professional Mid Range Driver

         

        The PRV Audio 3MR40-NDY-4 is a 3” (76.2 mm) midrange driver built for professional sound systems requiring high intelligibility and detailed midrange reproduction. With a nominal power handling of 20 watts and 40 watts program power, this 4-ohm driver delivers smooth and efficient performance across its impressive 120 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency range.

         

        Its compact structure, with only 1.59” (40.5 mm) mounting depth, makes it a prime candidate for small enclosures or multi-driver arrays. The 0.75” (19 mm) CCAW voice coil is wound to a depth of 4.8 mm on a durable polyimide former and sits in a 4 mm magnetic gap, contributing to a calculated Xmax of 1.40 mm.

         

        Thanks to a high sensitivity rating of 91 dB at 1 meter with 2.00V input, the 3MR40-NDY-4 ensures clear output with minimal power input. The lightweight 0.23 kg (0.51 lb) design includes a stamped steel frame and neodymium magnet for powerful yet efficient performance. Ideal for high-density sound arrays, its 33.2 cm² cone area and low moving mass (Mms: 2.62 g) contribute to fast, accurate transients and vocal clarity.
