        The PRV Audio 15W1600 is a 15" professional low-frequency driver built for high-output bass and punchy midbass in PA cabinets and DIY sound reinforcement builds. With an 800 W AES rating, 97 dB sensitivity (2.83 V at 1 m), and a 101 mm copper voice coil with side-vent cooling, it is designed to stay efficient and controlled under sustained power.

        PRV Audio 15W1600 Professional Low Frequency Driver

         

        The PRV Audio 15W1600 is designed for DIY and professional PA applications where efficiency and impact matter. Its 97 dB sensitivity (2.83 V at 1 m) and 8 Ω nominal impedance make it a solid match for high-output bass sections, kick bins, and full-range tops that need authoritative midbass. The published frequency response is 55 Hz to 2,500 Hz at -10 dB, making it well-suited for crossed systems.

         

        Power handling is rated at 800 W AES (1,600 W program), supported by a 101 mm copper voice coil with a Kapton former and side-vent voice coil cooling to help manage heat during long sessions at high SPL. For full power handling, PRV recommends a 75 Hz high-pass crossover with a 12 dB per octave slope.

         

        For enclosure design, the driver’s Thiele-Small data includes Fs 53.6 Hz, Qts 0.42, Vas 91.19 L, Sd 984 cm², Xmax 7.0 mm, Bl 24.13 Tm, Re 5.8 Ω, and Le 1.78 mH at 1 kHz, giving DIY builders the inputs needed to model vented or compact bass alignments. Mechanical construction includes a die-cast aluminium frame and practical installation dimensions: 388 mm overall diameter, 357 mm front-mount cutout, 140 mm mounting depth, and 152 mm overall depth.
