        Product details miniDSP EARS PRO

        miniDSP EARS PRO Reference Headphone Test Fixture

         

        The miniDSP EARS PRO is built for accurate, repeatable headphone measurement in professional environments. Its robust fixture combines human-like soft silicone pinna, IEC 60318-4 couplers and precision 1/2" prepolarized microphone capsules to support traceable frequency-response testing from 10 Hz to 20 kHz. Each microphone has a unique calibration file referenced to the unit serial number, including frequency, amplitude and sensitivity drift data.

         

        The adjustable aluminum test jig is designed for stable positioning and high-throughput workflows. It offers multiple headband-holder positions, adjustable ear-to-ear width from 100 to 200 mm, a heavy base to reduce noise transmission and mounting holes for test-bench installation. Additional base-plate mounting points are provided for a mouth simulator, which is not included.

         

        The included USB Audio 2x2 interface turns the fixture into a complete acoustic measurement setup. It uses an XMOS 500 MHz multicore processor with USB Audio Class 2 support, Windows ASIO drivers and plug-and-play operation on Linux and macOS. The interface includes low-noise ICP microphone preamps with 24 V, 4 mA IEPE bias, DIP-switch analog gain control from 0 to 45 dB, BNC inputs, RCA stereo analog output and a 6.3 mm headphone amplifier output.

         

        This makes the EARS PRO suitable for headphone R&D, production QA testing and calibrated binaural recording where repeatability, low noise and practical connectivity are essential.
