        Lundahl LL9202-85 Output Transformer for Tube Amplifiers 85 mA

         

        The Lundahl LL9202-85 is a tube output transformer from the LL1620, LL1623, LL1627 and LL9202 family. It is designed as a high-quality audio component for tube amplifiers, using the same core size, winding structure and secondary arrangement as the related models, while the LL9202 version provides the highest primary impedance level in the range.

         

        Its highly sectioned windings use harmonically sized sections to minimize leakage inductance. Combined with a low-capacitance coil winding technique, this construction supports wide frequency response and clean signal transfer. The LL9202 has a turns ratio of 4 x 26.5 : 8 x 1, 600 ohm primary static resistance with all primary sections in series, 0.4 ohm average resistance per secondary and 20 mH primary leakage inductance with the primary in series.

         

        The LL9202-85 variant is specified for single-ended use at 85 mA DC current with a 400 µ core air gap and 57 H primary inductance. For LL9202 applications, primary load impedance options include 23 kΩ, 11 kΩ and 6.5 kΩ depending on the selected secondary connection for 4, 8 or 16 ohm loads. Maximum single-ended output power at 30 Hz is specified up to 25 W in the 0.5 dB loss connection alternative, or up to 50 W with the 0.8 dB loss connection alternative.

         

        The transformer uses Lundahl’s special audio C-core and is built as an open-frame unit for mounting inside an amplifier enclosure. Practical installation details include a 2.5 kg weight, 5.08 mm pin spacing, 4 x M4 mounting holes and isolation ratings of 3 kV between primary and secondary windings and 1.5 kV between windings and core.
