Lundahl LL9202-50 Output Transformer for Tube Amplifiers 50 mA
The Lundahl LL9202-50 is part of Lundahl’s LL1620, LL1623, LL1627 and LL9202 output transformer family for tube amplifiers. Designed as a high-impedance transformer for demanding amplifiers and specialist audio components, it combines a special audio C-core with a winding structure optimized for low leakage inductance and low capacitance.
This 50 mA single-ended version uses a 225 µm core air gap and provides 100 H primary inductance at the recommended operating point. The LL9202 winding data includes a 4 x 26.5 : 8 x 1 turns ratio, 600 ohm primary DC resistance with all primary windings in series, 0.4 ohm average secondary resistance per winding and 20 mH primary leakage inductance with the primary in series.
The transformer offers flexible secondary connection alternatives for 4, 8 and 16 ohm loads. For single-ended operation, the recommended 0.5 dB loss connection gives a 25 W power limit at 30 Hz, while other connection alternatives allow different output-power and loss trade-offs. The maximum primary signal voltage at 30 Hz is 525 V RMS in single-ended operation with all primary windings in series.
Built as an open-frame transformer, the LL9202-50 is suitable for mounting inside an amplifier housing. It weighs 2.5 kg, uses a 5.08 mm pin spacing module and is fitted with 4 x M4 mounting holes. Isolation is specified at 3 kV between primary and secondary windings and 1.5 kV between windings and core.
