Lundahl LL1690 Amorphous Core High Level Line Input Transformer
The Lundahl LL1690 is designed for high-end line-level audio use, especially where clean signal transfer and balanced circuit behavior are important. Its 1 + 1 : 1 + 1 winding configuration supports serial-serial 1:1 operation for high-level line input, making it suitable for refined audio components and tube amplifiers.
The transformer uses an uncut cobalt-based amorphous strip core and is enclosed in a mu-metal can. Primary and secondary windings are separated by electrostatic shields, while the dual-coil construction helps reduce sensitivity to external magnetic fields from sources such as power supplies and motors.
For phase-splitting applications, the winding arrangement provides a high degree of symmetry. The LL1690 supports phase splitting for both 1 : 1 + 1 and 2 : 1 + 1 input configurations, with phase splitting balance better than 55 dB from 10 Hz to 50 kHz in the specified 2 : 1 + 1 connection.
Performance is specified with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 100 kHz within ±1.0 dB in serial connection, using a 1 kΩ source and 40 kΩ load in parallel with 7 kΩ + 400 pF. Each primary and secondary winding has a static resistance of 150 Ω. The compact PCB-mount package measures 42 x 28 x 22 mm above the PCB, uses 5.08 mm pin spacing, and weighs 81 g.
