Lundahl LL1681 Moving Coil Input Transformer
The Lundahl LL1681 is designed as a moving coil input transformer for demanding low-level signal applications. Its large mu-metal core and mu-metal housing provide magnetic shielding, making it a precise choice for sensitive audio components where clean signal transfer is essential.
Internally, the LL1681 uses two coils, each with a two-sectioned primary winding and one high-level secondary winding with paper insulation. Electrostatic shields separate the windings, supporting stable performance and helping reduce unwanted coupling between primary and secondary sections.
The transformer can be connected for a 1:13 or 1:26 turns ratio. In 1:13 balanced operation with a 40 ohm source and 47 kOhm load, it delivers a frequency response of 7 Hz to 60 kHz within +/- 1 dB. In unbalanced 1:13 operation under the same source and load conditions, the response is 7 Hz to 55 kHz within +/- 1 dB.
Practical integration is supported by a compact 48 x 29 x 20 mm PCB-mounted format, 5.08 mm pin spacing, 35.56 mm row spacing and a recommended PCB hole diameter of 1.5 mm. For build verification and electric measurements, the LL1681 provides 4.8 ohm static resistance per primary, 820 ohm static resistance per secondary, 4 kV primary-to-secondary isolation and 2 kV isolation between windings and shield.
