        Lundahl LL1623-60 Output Transformer for Tube Amplifiers 60 mA

         

        The Lundahl LL1623-60 is designed for tube amplifiers and uses the LL1623 winding structure with a 60 mA single-ended operating point. Its special audio C-core is gapped for DC current, helping the transformer handle the standing current of an output tube while preserving headroom for the audio signal.

         

        For strong electrical performance, the transformer uses highly sectioned, harmonically sized windings to keep leakage inductance low. Combined with Lundahl’s low-capacitance coil winding technique, this supports a wide usable frequency range. The LL1623 design has a turns ratio of 4 x 13.4 : 8 x 1, 164 ohm primary resistance with all primary windings in series, and 0.4 ohm average resistance per secondary.

         

        The LL1623-60 offers flexible secondary connection alternatives for 4, 8 and 16 ohm loads. In the commonly recommended 0.5 dB loss connection, the LL1623 provides a 3.0 kΩ primary load impedance and a 25 W single-ended power limit at 30 Hz. This makes it a practical high-quality amplifier accessory for tube output stages where impedance matching and low-frequency headroom matter.

         

        The open-frame construction is intended for installation inside an amplifier housing. Mechanical details include a 2.5 kg weight, 5.08 mm pin spacing, 4 x M4 mounting holes, and a footprint layout of 118 mm x 90 mm with 53 mm height. Primary-to-secondary isolation is rated at 3 kV, with 1.5 kV isolation between windings and core, making this audio component well suited to serious tube amplifier builds.
