Lundahl LL1593 General Purpose Audio Transformer
The Lundahl LL1593 is designed as a low-cost version of the LL1532, using the same winding structure but without Faraday shields and mu-metal housing. It is a practical choice for builders who need a compact transformer for medium-impedance audio components, especially where signal splitting or general line-level transformer coupling is required.
Its winding configuration is 1 + 1 : 2, giving you flexible connection options. With the primaries connected in series, the LL1593 can be used for a 1:1 turns ratio. With the primaries connected in parallel, it can be used for a 1:2 turns ratio, making it adaptable for different circuit requirements in audio and electromechanics projects.
Performance is well suited to high-quality audio work. With a 600 Ω source impedance and 10 kΩ load, the transformer provides a frequency response from 10 Hz to 60 kHz within ±0.3 dB. Distortion is 0.2% at +6 dBU primary level at 50 Hz, and 1% at +12 dBU primary level at 50 Hz, with the primaries connected in series.
The LL1593 is made for PCB mounting and has a compact footprint of 26 x 16 x 14 mm above the PCB. Pin spacing is 3.81 mm, row spacing is 20.32 mm, and the recommended PCB hole diameter is 1.5 mm. Each primary has a static resistance of 70 Ω, while the secondary has a static resistance of 175 Ω.
