The Lundahl LL1584-3FX3MX is built for clean signal interfacing where ground loops, hum, or unwanted galvanic contact can become an issue. Its inline format with XLR female to XLR male connectors makes it easy to insert directly into balanced audio signal paths without adding a separate cable assembly.
Inside the magnetically shielded unit is Lundahl’s LL1584 medium-impedance isolation transformer. The transformer uses an amorphous strip core and provides 600 ohms to 600 ohms operation, making it suitable for professional high-level audio connections and practical audio cables setups in mobile or stationary systems.
The input and output sides are galvanically isolated from each other, with 1 kV isolation between both sides. This makes the LL1584-3FX3MX a practical solution for breaking up ground loops and for balanced-to-unbalanced conversion where equipment needs to be interconnected reliably.
Performance is specified for demanding audio use, with LF saturation above +17 dBU at 50 Hz and a maximum signal level of +17 dBU at 50 Hz with less than 1% THD. The unit offers a 10 Hz to 70 kHz frequency response within ±0.5 dB at 0 dBU, less than 0.2% THD at 50 Hz from -2 to +16 dBU, and only 0.5 dB transformer loss with a 10 kΩ load.
