        Hypex Nilai500DIY 1CH Nilai® 1x500W Mono Amplifier


        The Nilai® technology  is the latest amplifier technologie from Hypex and the long-awaited successor to the acclaimed NC400 Ncore amplifier. This new class D technology boosts all previous achieved performances to a next level. The Nilai500 stands among the top of our amplifier module technology.


        Besides impeccable performance, this kit features everything you need to build your own Nilai monoblock amplifier. The main parts are the Nilai500 amplifier module, PS500 power supply and the DIY Monoblock case. The amplifier module and power supply combination enable the latest and best performance available from the Nilai technology.


        This amplifier can deliver all its power from as low as 2 ohm impedance combined with ultra low distortion, very low idle loss, and very noise levels. Chief distinguishing features are flat frequency response irrespective of load impedance, nearly frequency independent distortion behaviour. This results in performances such as the max output power of 500Wrms at 4 ohm, a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 134dB and astonishing distorting level of 0.00015%.


        An amplifier is only as good as the power supply it contains. In this Nilai500 DIY mono amplifier, the power supply providing the power for the amplifier is a compact, high power, highly efficient PFC power supply, including standby power supply. Including these properties and carefully selected high-grade power supply components makes this technology ideal for powering the Nilai500 amplifier module.


        The aluminum enclosure houses the Hypex Nilai500 amplifier module and power supply, the best thermal material for audio devices. The in- and output connections are provided through high-quality gold plated binding posts and XLR-chassis from Neutrik. The power supply can operate from both 110 and 230 VAC mains voltage due to it's universal mains input.


        Along with the main parts, everything else you need to build a powerful high-quality monoblock amplifier is included. Including an easy to follow instruction manual which gives you the ability to realize a high end power amplifier at a fraction of the costs. Assembly only requires proper positioning, around 30 bolts to be tightened and some connectors to be clicked. Anybody comfortable with a screwdriver can build one of the best amplifiers available within just 30-60 minutes.

        Q: I have a stereo system. Do I need two of these?

        A: A monoblock is an amplifier that only has one channel. A stereo setup requires two channels; you would need two monoblock amplifiers for a stereo setup. Compared to a stereo amplifier, this might seem cumbersome. However, a monoblock features a complete power supply for one channel. This allows for the best performance.


        Q: Is there a stereo kit available?

        A: Yes! If a mono amplifier is not sufficient, you can go for a stereo kit with the same Nilai technique from Hypex. The Nilai500DIY 2CH Stereo Kit is available and contains 2x Nilai500DIY amplifier modules with a total output of 2 x 300W at 2 ohm.
