        GRS 6SMP-8 Surface Mount Woofer

         

        The GRS 6SMP-8 is a 6-1/2" 8-ohm woofer specifically engineered for surface-mount applications. It features a damped poly cone with a rubber surround that minimizes unwanted resonances, delivering a usable frequency range from 40 Hz to 2,500 Hz. Its motor system includes a copper cap that reduces distortion by lowering inductance, and a vented pole piece that supports better cooling during high-power operation. The 39 mm voice coil uses an aluminum former to enhance heat transfer and maintain stability under load. With an SPL of 87.7 dB @ 2.83V/1m and an Xmax of 5 mm, the 6SMP-8 offers solid midbass performance and moderate low-end extension. It's ideal for high-quality compact speaker designs, line arrays, or custom audio installations requiring precise, low-profile mounting solutions.
