Its construction uses pure copper foil with a wax paper in oil dielectricum, a material approach previously reserved for Duelund’s top-tier CAST series. The paper separating the copper foils is deeply vacuum impregnated, after which the windings are wax impregnated to help seal the capacitor winding completely.
The JDM series stands for Jensen Domestic Market, referencing Duelund’s close connection with Jensen capacitor manufacturing. These capacitors are made using Jensen winding and impregnation equipment at Duelund’s revamped factory, bringing copper foil capacitor construction to a robust and accessible format.
The outer material is paper, with the capacitor winding potted inside using the same material approach as Duelund’s CAST models. The outer lead-out, closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should generally be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground, typically the signal output.
