JDM stands for Jensen Domestic Market, a reference to Jensen capacitor manufacturing and the close collaboration behind this design heritage. It is made for demanding audio use, including crossover components, signal electronics and bypass applications.
This capacitor uses a wax paper in oil dielectric, a construction approach previously reserved for Duelund’s top CAST series. The paper separating the copper foils is vacuum impregnated, followed by wax impregnation of the windings to help seal the construction completely. The result is a robust copper foil capacitor designed for high-performance audio circuits.
The JDM Copper series is suitable for speaker crossovers and can also be used as a replacement for the discontinued Duelund Copper Foil Precision Bypass Capacitors. The outer material is paper, with the capacitor winding potted inside using the same material approach as Duelund’s CAST models. The outer lead-out, closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground, generally the signal output.
