This CAST-PIO-CU-SN capacitor is part of Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-line CAST series of high-end capacitors. It uses tinned copper foil with a paper-in-oil construction and Duelund’s proprietary WPIO dielectricum, which is impregnated under high pressure over several days to enhance sonic performance and durability.
The construction builds on Duelund’s Virtual Stack Foil design, a principle developed to reduce losses, distortion and microphonics. Combined with the CAST process, this gives the capacitor a highly damped, mechanically stable structure that supports clear, transparent and natural reproduction.
The CAST-PIO-CU-SN-630-1,0 is suitable for premium crossover components in speakers, as well as signal coupling, bypassing and filtering applications in amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs and CD players. It is intended for audio systems where tonal realism, dynamics and musical flow are important design priorities.
Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used for connection. The outer lead-out, positioned closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for correct installation orientation.
