Duelund Coherent Audio CAST-PIO-CU-SN-630-0.22 CAST Paper in Oil Tinned Copper Foil Capacitor
The CAST-PIO-CU-SN-630-0.22 belongs to Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-level CAST capacitor range. These capacitors use tinned copper foil combined with paper in oil and Duelund’s proprietary WPIO dielectric, a construction chosen for natural sound reproduction, low losses and excellent mechanical control.
The impregnation process takes several days under high pressure, resulting in exceptional damping properties and a mechanically stable capacitor body. A ring of hard-pressed paper further reinforces the damping structure, helping the capacitor maintain its performance in demanding audio circuits.
This capacitor builds on Steen Duelund’s Virtual Stack Foil principle, which uses a precise and symmetrical foil arrangement to minimise distortion, losses and microphonics. It is suitable for high-quality audio applications including crossover networks, signal coupling, bypassing and filtering in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs and CD players.
Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used for connection. The outer lead out, closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for correct orientation in the circuit.
