The CAST-PIO-CU-SN-100-4,7 is part of Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-level CAST capacitor range, using tinned copper foil combined with a paper-in-oil construction. It is made for demanding audio use, including crossover components, signal coupling, bypassing, and filtering in loudspeakers and electronics.
Its construction builds on the Duelund Virtual Stack Foil principle, a design intended to minimise losses, distortions, and microphonics. The proprietary WPIO dielectric requires several days of impregnation under high pressure, resulting in strong damping properties and very high mechanical stability.
The CAST process is supported by a ring of hard-pressed paper, which further strengthens the damping behaviour of the design. This makes the capacitor especially suitable for high-quality capacitors in audio systems where clarity, dynamics, tonal accuracy, and realism are important.
Duelund DCA16GA wire lead-outs are used for connection. The outer lead-out, closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for optimal installation.
