The Duelund Coherent Audio CAST-PIO-CU-SN-100-3,9 is part of Duelund’s no-compromise CAST PIO capacitor range. It uses tinned copper foil in a paper-in-oil construction with the addition of a proprietary WPIO dielectric, making it a high-end choice for capacitors in demanding audio systems.
The CAST process is designed to create exceptional damping properties and mechanical stability. Several days of high-pressure impregnation are used for the WPIO dielectric, while a ring of hard-pressed paper further strengthens the damping behavior of the capacitor body.
Duelund’s construction builds on the Virtual Stack Foil principle, developed to reduce losses, distortion, and microphonics. In practical use, this makes the capacitor suitable for applications such as crossover networks, signal coupling, bypassing, and filtering in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, CD players, and other audio electronics.
The capacitor is fitted with Duelund DCA16GA wire lead-outs. The outer lead-out closest to the capacitor edge is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for correct orientation in an audio circuit.
