Duelund Coherent Audio CAST-PIO-CU-SN-100-3.3 CAST Paper in Oil Copper-Tin Capacitor
The CAST-PIO-CU-SN-100-3.3 belongs to Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-level CAST capacitor family. These capacitors use pure metal foil construction, in this case tinned copper foil, combined with paper in oil and Duelund’s proprietary WPIO dielectric. The result is a capacitor intended for highly accurate and natural sound reproduction.
The CAST construction is engineered for exceptional damping. Several days of impregnation under high pressure help create a mechanically stable structure with very low microphonics. A ring of hard-pressed paper further strengthens the damping properties, allowing music to flow with clarity, dynamics and realism.
This capacitor is suitable for demanding audio use, including crossover components, signal coupling, bypassing and filtering. It can be used in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs and CD players where transparency, tonality and natural presentation are priorities.
Duelund DCA16GA wire lead-outs are used for the connections. The outer lead-out, positioned closest to the capacitor edge, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for optimal installation.
