The CAST-PIO-CU-SN-100-2,2 is part of Duelund Coherent Audio’s no-compromise CAST Paper in Oil range. This capacitor uses tinned copper foil with paper in oil and a proprietary WPIO dielectric, creating a construction aimed at accurate, natural sound reproduction in demanding audio circuits.
Its CAST process includes several days of impregnation under high pressure. Together with a ring of hard-pressed paper, this design gives the capacitor strong damping properties and very high mechanical stability, helping reduce unwanted mechanical influence in sensitive crossover components.
The construction builds on Duelund’s Virtual Stack Foil principle, developed to minimize losses, distortion and microphonics. For audio applications such as speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, CD players and filtering circuits, the CAST series is designed to support clarity, dynamics, transparency, tonality and realism.
Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used for connection. The outer lead-out, located closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for correct orientation in the circuit.
