The CAST series represents Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-tier approach to audio capacitors. Built around the Virtual Stack Foil principle, the construction is engineered to reduce losses, distortion and microphonics, helping preserve clarity, dynamics and tonal realism in high-quality audio circuits.
A key element of the design is the proprietary WPIO impregnation process, which requires several days under high pressure. This creates exceptional damping properties and gives the capacitor a high level of mechanical stability. A hard-pressed paper ring further supports the damping behaviour of the CAST construction.
This capacitor is suitable for demanding crossover components work as well as signal coupling, bypassing and filtering. It can be used in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, CD players and other audio systems where natural and accurate sound reproduction is important.
Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used for connection. The outer lead out, closest to the edge of the capacitor, is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest impedance path to ground for correct orientation in the circuit.
