Duelund’s CAST design builds on the Virtual Stack Foil principle, originally developed by Steen Duelund. The construction uses carefully arranged metal foils together with paper-in-oil technology and a proprietary WPIO dielectricum. This dielectric system requires several days of impregnation under high pressure, resulting in high mechanical stability and a naturally damped capacitor body.
The capacitor is suitable for a range of audio applications, including crossover-components, signal coupling, bypassing and filtering. It can be used in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs and CD players where clarity, dynamics, transparency, tonality and realism are priorities.
