The CAST-PIO-CU-AG-630-0,033 belongs to Duelund Coherent Audio’s top-tier CAST capacitor concept, developed for demanding audio use where low losses, low distortion and low microphonics are essential. Its CAST construction is intended to deliver exceptional mechanical damping, making it a strong choice for premium capacitors in serious loudspeaker and electronics projects.
Duelund’s CAST design builds on the Virtual Stack Foil principle, originally developed by Steen Duelund. The construction uses carefully arranged metal foils together with paper-in-oil technology and a proprietary WPIO dielectricum. This dielectric system requires several days of impregnation under high pressure, resulting in high mechanical stability and a naturally damped capacitor body.
The capacitor is suitable for a range of audio applications, including crossover-components, signal coupling, bypassing and filtering. It can be used in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs and CD players where clarity, dynamics, transparency, tonality and realism are priorities.
For correct orientation, the outer lead-out closest to the edge of the capacitor is connected to the outer foil and should be connected to the lowest-impedance path to ground. Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used, supporting the capacitor’s high-end construction and careful implementation in audio circuits.
