        The Duelund Coherent Audio CAST-PIO-12-CU-1,5 is a 1.5 mH CAST copper foil air-core inductor built for high-end audio crossover applications, using waxed/oiled paper insulation, WPIO impregnation and a rigid cast construction for exceptional mechanical stability.

        Duelund Coherent Audio CAST-PIO-12-CU-1,5 1.5 mH 5% 12 AWG CAST Copper Foil Air-Core Inductor

        The CAST-PIO-12-CU-1,5 is part of Duelund Coherent Audio’s CAST inductor range, developed for demanding audio crossover components where low loss, low distortion and mechanical stability are critical. Its air-core design uses pure copper foil rather than conventional round wire, helping preserve clarity and dynamics in high-quality passive filter networks.


        The inductor is built from copper foil wound onto a compressed paper former, with each layer insulated by waxed/oiled paper. Duelund’s proprietary WPIO dielectricum is applied through a vacuum impregnation and high-pressure process that takes several days, resulting in the damping and stability required for premium audio coils.


        The CAST construction further stabilises the winding by encasing it in a rigid, highly damped structure. A ring of hard-pressed paper reinforces the design, reducing microphony and helping the inductor resist vibrations that can otherwise affect sound quality in sensitive crossover circuits.


        With 12 AWG copper foil, twisted copper leadouts and a 1.5 mH inductance value, this Duelund CAST inductor is suited to high-end speaker crossover networks, filters and audio electronics where component quality directly influences the final result.
