The CAST-PIO-12-CU-1,2 is built for demanding audio crossover networks, filters and electronics where coil quality is critical. As part of Duelund’s CAST inductor range, it is designed for use among premium crossover components and high-grade coils, using an air-core construction with pure copper foil as the conductor.

Its copper foil measures 150 micrometres thick by 20 mm high, corresponding to 12 AWG, and is wound onto a compressed paper former. The foil layers are insulated with waxed/oiled paper, creating the foundation for a stable, well-damped structure. Twisted copper leadouts provide a matching copper signal path at the terminals.

Duelund’s CAST process uses a proprietary WPIO dielectricum and requires several days of impregnation under high pressure. The inductor is fully vacuum impregnated, then further stabilised through the casting process. A ring of hard-pressed paper adds extra damping, helping the coil remain mechanically stable during operation.

The result is an air-core inductor with very low resistance, low distortion, reduced microphony and high thermal stability. For customers building or upgrading high-end speaker crossovers, the CAST-PIO-12-CU-1,2 offers the distinctive Duelund combination of copper foil construction, WPIO impregnation and exceptionally rigid mechanical execution.
