The Dayton Audio UMII18-22 Ultimax II DVC Subwoofer is an exceptional subwoofer designed to deliver deep, articulate, and powerful bass. It incorporates advanced materials and construction techniques to ensure outstanding performance in both home theater and car audio applications.
Dayton Audio UMII18-22 Ultimax II 18" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer
The Dayton Audio UMII18-22 Ultimax II DVC Subwoofer is engineered for extreme bass performance. Its massive 18-inch Nomex honeycomb composite cone, reinforced with woven fiberglass, ensures rigidity and resistance to damage. The tall-boy rubber surround and dual 8-inch mirror-imaged spiders allow for over 2 inches of linear excursion, minimizing distortion even at high power levels. This subwoofer handles 1,000 watts RMS and 2,000 watts peak, making it capable of producing incredibly powerful and clean bass.
Its dual 2-ohm voice coils provide versatile wiring options, allowing for stereo 2 ohm or mono 1 ohm configurations when connecting to high current car audio or professional audio amplifiers. For home audio setups, wiring the voice coils in series yields a 4-ohm load for greater amplifier compatibility. Additionally, the large vented pole piece and under-spider ventilation improve thermal management and reduce power compression, ensuring consistent performance.
Optimized for both sealed and vented enclosures, the UMII18-22 is versatile and suitable for various installation scenarios. In a sealed enclosure of 4 cubic feet, it achieves an f3 of 33 Hz, while in a vented enclosure of 6 cubic feet, it reaches an f3 of 22 Hz, delivering deep, impactful bass.
