        The Dayton Audio Epique E150MR-8 is a 5.5" wide-band carbon fiber midrange driver built for clean output, low distortion and detailed performance from 70 to 7,000 Hz.

        The Dayton Audio Epique E150MR-8 is designed for high-resolution loudspeaker projects that demand precision and clarity through the critical midrange. As a wide-band mid-range woofer, it combines a carbon fiber cone with an indexed surround to support controlled pistonic movement and accurate reproduction across a broad operating range.

         

        With a usable frequency range of 70 to 7,000 Hz, the E150MR-8 offers exceptional coverage for demanding speakers and multi-driver designs. Its 8 ohm impedance supports flexible system integration, while 89.6 dB sensitivity and 60 watts RMS power handling provide strong, controlled output for dynamic playback.

         

        The advanced motor system uses a copper cap and aluminum shorting sleeve to reduce distortion and inductance, helping this woofer maintain clean detail at higher output levels. A titanium former, aluminum phase plug and extensive cooling system further improve thermal stability during demanding listening sessions.

         

        A rigid cast aluminum frame helps suppress unwanted resonance and vibration, giving the driver a stable mechanical foundation. With an Fs of 74 Hz, Qts of 0.58, Vas of 8.0 liters and 2.7 mm Xmax, the E150MR-8 is a capable audio component for precise, low-distortion midrange reproduction.
