      Product description

Dayton Audio's unique DAEX25X4-4 exciter assembly employs an array of four separate exciters coupled together with a frame. This combined motor strength actuates an area larger than what conventional exciters can drive, resulting in higher power handling and more output.

      Highlights

      • Pre-applied 3M™ VHB™ adhesive for quick, secure installation
      • Four 24 mm voice coils improves power handling to 40 watts RMS
      • Rare-earth neodymium motor and proprietary voice coils
      • Easy 8 ohm load, can be powered by most amplifiers

      Product details

Dayton Audio DAEX25X4-4 Bullfrog Vented Disc Spider 25 mm x 4 Exciter 320 mm Cable and Connectors 40W 4 Ohm

The Dayton Audio exciter assembly's unique design uses four 25 mm exciters coupled to a plastic frame to actuate a larger area with more force than conventional designs. This array of exciters is wired in a series-parallel configuration for an overall impedance of 8 ohms and power handling of up to 40 watts RMS.

The DAEX25X4-4 exciter features the same ability to turn nearly any surface into a speaker as other exciters and tactile transducers do, only with a larger contact area and moving mass that increases energy transfer. Perfect for use in walls, drop ceilings, or even cabinet doors.

To ensure maximum acoustic energy transfer between the transducer and the surface to which it is attached, 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive is pre-applied... just peel and stick! Connection is made with 10" wire leads to keep installation and wiring as simple as possible.

A great field of application for this exciter is so-called DML or flat-panel speakers. DML stands for Distributed Mode Loudspeakers and is a term for speakers that catch the eye with their incredibly slim design.

surprising is the word! the exciter is rather large and not suited for small area´s. I attached it to foamboard 1cm thick, 140cm by 80cm. With such a board there is way more mid and high than in the datasheet on the website. With the mini DSP I lift 90 Hz 8dB, I turn down 130hz to 200Hz 5dB down, 10kHz I turn 2dB down. If you use a subwoofer the cut off frequency should be rather high at least 120 Hz. Copper instruments, acoustic guitars, are very good, female voices can be a little sharp. The exciter gives a very detailed sound and together with no fase problems the set up makes me smile. you can turn up the volume so that the neighbours are uncomfortable. There is something small to nag about. the connection is made with very thin wires and a stecker. It would be better if this was done like the other exciters with normal connectors. I cut the stecker off and connected the thin wires to cable shoes for car audio.
