        Beyma SMC-65 Compression Driver

         

        The Beyma SMC-65 is a high-performance compression driver tailored for high-frequency reproduction in professional PA and loudspeaker systems. With a 1.4-inch throat and a 2.85-inch voice coil, this driver strikes a balance between lightweight construction and reliable power handling. It delivers up to 140 W of program power above 1.5 kHz, and features a high sensitivity of 107 dB (1W/1m), ensuring articulate sound with minimal input power. The SMC-65 utilizes a titanium diaphragm paired with a polyester surround for extended frequency coverage from 0.7 to 18 kHz. A ferrite magnet motor assembly ensures a cost-effective yet robust magnetic field (1.55 T), while the edgewound aluminum ribbon voice coil contributes to its high output and efficient transient response. The unit measures 156 mm in diameter and 66 mm in depth, and mounts with four M6 threaded holes spaced 90º apart on a standard 101.6 mm circle. Weighing 4.2 kg, it is a reliable and powerful option for installations and touring setups where performance and mechanical strength are critical.
