Beyma SMC60 High Frequency Compression Driver
The Beyma SMC60 is a professional-grade 2” exit compression driver engineered for high-performance high-frequency applications. Designed with a large 2.8” (72.2 mm) aluminum voice coil and a titanium dome diaphragm supported by a polyester surround, this driver is capable of delivering detailed, articulate highs at significant output levels. With an AES-rated power handling of 80 W and a program power of 160 W above 1 kHz, the SMC60 reaches a sensitivity of 109 dB (measured on axis with 1W at 1m, coupled to a TD-460N horn), ensuring efficient energy transfer and clarity in large sound systems. Its frequency response covers a wide range from 500 Hz to 18,000 Hz, and it is recommended to be used with a crossover point at or above 0.8 kHz (12 dB/oct minimum). Built around a ferrite magnet structure with a flux density of 1.55 T and a Bl factor of 8.8 N/A, the SMC60 combines solid magnetic control with mechanical reliability. It features a durable mounting design with four M6 threaded holes spaced 90° apart on a 4” diameter circle, making integration straightforward in professional enclosures. Weighing 4.5 kg with a robust 156 mm diameter body, the Beyma SMC60 is an ideal HF solution for PA systems, line arrays, and other demanding audio installations requiring power, precision, and longevity.
